Anyone else remember when 2020 was going to be the Best Year Ever! And 2021 was supposed to be the year when everything got back to normal. Let’s just forget we all believed that and move on.

With many places in the world facing new lockdowns and extra restrictions it can feel difficult to make plans or set goals. I haven’t seen any New Year, New Me posts yet, but perhaps I just haven’t been looking for them. But overall I feel that a lot of people are feeling scared to plan anything. Who knows what new rules may change anything you want to do. We’re living in a stranger world than normal and it can be easy to be pessimistic about the future.

Even with the way things are right now I’m still trying to make plans. I’m a fan of setting goals and I am still planning things I want to achieve, I think even with the unpredictability of life there is always room for hope and goals. But I also decided to look at things a different way. The last couple of years have took a lot away from people and for me it made me realise what I value in my life. Being able to travel to visit family and friends, a day trip to the cinema or a gallery day now seem like extravagant events. I took a step back and considered how I wanted my life to look which led to me now working remotely and focusing on writing and I decided to set some realistic goals.

If you’re looking for ways to make 2022 great, you might want to set goals that are easy to stick to and will make a real difference in your life.

#1 Focus on the good

It’s easy to get wrapped up in everything that is going wrong in your life and forget the good things. Whether it’s the people in your life, your work or hobbies focus on the positives instead of the negative.

#2 Be authentic

2022 needs to be the year of showing people the real you. No more putting on an act or behaving in a certain way because you think it will make people like you more. Authenticity will attract the right people into your life. Be yourself and see what happens.

#3 Make health a priority
