5 Signs You’re on the Right Path in Life

I sometimes feel lost in life.

I tend to overanalyse everything and wonder if the decisions I have made are the right ones. Over the years I’ve turned down high paying jobs, moved away from security into the unknown and made split decisions that often made my life harder.

Sometimes I wonder if life would be easier if I had stayed in one job or chosen an easier career path that isn’t filled with rejection and struggle. A practical role rather than a creative one.

Whilst most people choose the path of least resistance, I keep working towards my ideal life, with no real idea if it is sustainable or even possible.

When you are aiming for your dream life, it can be hard to know if you are on the right path.

Most dreams are just that. So how do you know if you are on the right path? I’ve been thinking about that a lot. I think these 5 signs are good indicators to whether you are on the right path:

  1. You don’t feel like you are wasting time
  2. You’re proud to share your achievements and goals
  3. The dream would make you happy
  4. Even when things are hard you still want to do it
  5. Take money out of the equation — what are you doing?

You don’t feel like you are wasting time

Before I left my office job I had the same feeling every day — I was wasting time. I wanted to be working on my writing, starting a business and spending time working towards my goals.

At the end of a long work day I had no energy to do any of this and felt like I was wasting time. This is a good indicator of times when you are on the wrong path.

Doing what you love doesn’t feel like this. When I am writing it feels like I’m using my time wisely and fulling my raison d’être.
