Today I decided not to work. Shock horror! Am I even a real freelancer now?

Guess what? The world didn’t end and my work will still be waiting for me when I return.

The biggest lesson I am learning now that I am a freelance, remote worker is that I have to make my schedule work for me.

I am a firm believer that a job is just that — a job. It will not be the most important part of your existence on this planet nor should it be. Your loved ones won’t remember how many hours you worked or care about your job title.

Memories are all that matters at the end of the day.

So today I took a day off, I planned to work but instead went for a walk with my family. Other people were enjoying being outdoors and having fun. It’s so important not to let work take over your life even if it is something you love.

Work to live don’t live to work. Life is out there so when you get a chance take a walk in the park.
