How You Know You’ve Found a Job You Love

Giving up freelancing was a tough decision but one I don’t regret. Whilst I enjoyed the freedom of being a freelancer (and might possibly do it again in the future) I quickly remembered the joy of having a steady salary and not having to work 24/7.

After working in an office job for a while I was excited to try out freelancing and to start with had a lot of steady roles. It was nice not to be tied down to a company and to be able to set my own schedule. However, when you can work at any time there are no clear boundaries between home and work. I quickly found myself working longer hours than normal and feeling the pressure to keep getting freelance roles.

Then one of my jobs ended everyone's contracts overnight and I became aware of how unstable the industry is. You have less rights when freelancing and can lose a role at any time.

So, I got a new job working for a good cause and was super happy with the work and the reliable income.

Then a few months into my job I realised something — I was no longer job hunting.
