Keeping Busy Over Christmas
Things to do over the holidays if this isn’t your favourite time of year
Not everyone loves this time of year and that’s OK. It can feel like the world is surrounded by happy families and living their best lives.
This isn’t true but we don’t always see the people who are struggling. They don’t make for a good Christmas TV advert. So, instead we are bombarded by images of happiness which might make you feel worse.
It’s OK to not like this time of year — but spending the holidays being miserable doesn’t have to be the only other option. Here’s some ways to keep busy:
Get out for a walk
Depending on where you live and if the weather allows get out for a walk. Other walkers will no doubt say hello and wish you a Merry Christmas, this can be nice if you are alone over the holidays.
It’s always lovely as well to see the Christmas lights people have decorated their homes with and some fresh air is always welcome.
Eat your favourite meal
Even if you are spending Christmas alone get yourself some nice food. It doesn’t need to be a Christmas dinner, have whatever you want. There are no rules!
