Let the Season Inspire Your Writing
Make winter your writing prompt
I’m not a big fan of winter, every year it feels like a waiting game for the warmer, kinder weather to return.
But I’m trying to use every experience in my writing.
Inspiration can come from all places including your location and the seasons.
So, why not use winter and the colder weather to your advantage? People who live in yearlong warm weather need not apply — go back to the beach whilst I type with frozen fingers.
Create a new habit
In winter I feel generally less motivated. Due to a combination of the darker days and the colder weather affecting me physically and mentally I am less inspired.
This year I decided to push myself a little. To make sure now that I’m working from home I didn’t have a wasted winter.
I decided to do a December writing challenge, where I am writing on Medium daily.
This has given me something to keep me busy but also meant I will achieve something over my least productive season.
Use those cold days and icy mornings to get some writing done. It beats being out in the freezing cold or wasting time de-icing your car.
