Void

The darkness isn’t asking for
Anything but what remains

I don’t know how to fill it
This void that lives in my chest
An emptiness
Which rivals that in space
Ever expanding
A universe all by its self
The more I reach out
The less I feel connected
A black hole
No relationship can fill
Destined to live
With the void forever
The only thing that remains with me still
The loneliness offers safety
It doesn’t need you to change
The darkness isn’t asking for
Anything but what remains
I can be broken
Authentic
Dull to the world
Wallow in the sadness
Stay lifeless in my own earth
I don’t know how to fill it
This void within my chest
It’s everything and nothing
But it won’t let me rest
