You Might As Well Work For Free

Some freelance platforms expect you to work for pennies and it’s just not worth it!

Becoming a freelancer hasn’t been easy.

I’ll admit that I am someone who likes the ease of having regular work available, which is why I am drawn to freelancing platforms.

The problem I’m finding is I don’t want to work for next to nothing and that is what many of these sites expect.

Freelance Platforms Aren’t Always the Best

With clients readily available and easily searchable job postings, working on sites like Upwork takes some of the stress out of working for yourself.

At least this is what I thought when I started out.

I have a tutoring job which is fine during term time when there is regular work available but now coming up to Christmas and the end of term there is hardly any sessions available so I thought I’d try my hand at freelance writing.

I’ve written on and off for years finding work through various sites and posting on places like Medium where you are not guaranteed an income but might make some money off your work.

As a change I decided to try looking on Upwork and was shocked at what I found.
